All that glitters is NOT gold!

I own the Adcraft single tank fryer. Below is a list of the serious cons and the one pro I have found with this fryer.

*CON-The product description for the single tank Adcraft fryer states the "Temp Control switch from 120-375." FACT-The Temp Control switch only goes up to 370.

*CON-The product description states this fryer will get up to 375 degrees.
FACT-Using a temperature gauge,I found this fryer only gets up to 350 degrees.

CON-The fry basket comes with a detachable handle.Not a safe thing when working around hot oil.
I had the handle of my fry basket welded on at a local welding shop.

PRO-The ONLY pro I found with this fryer is that it comes apart easily for cleaning.

*NOTE:Since I wrote the my original review in 2010, which then the product description stated "Temp Control switch from 120-375." It appears now that the product description has been rewritten to say "Thermostatically controlled to 375° F (190° C)" instead.

UPDATE-1/12/2011- Other owners of this fryer I've talked to report their fryer also only get's up to 350 degrees.Foods like chicken,french fries and onion rings do fine being fried at 350 degrees.But when frying beef items, beef is best when fried at 375 degrees.Beef is gummy when fried at 350 degrees.I always (and I recommend) use a tempature gauge with this fryer to always know the exact tempature of the oil.I brought my fryer for home use,with that said,since this is a commerical fryer, it's sturdier and bigger than fryers strickly for home use while still only needing a regular residential wall outlet.The bigger size means I can fry descent size portions for up to 3 to 4 people at one time.

Heats up quick

It heats up quick and holds a good amount of oil.... Have had a few buffalo wing parties at my house and it's nice that I can fry up enough for 4 people quickly. I prefer commercial grade appliances and so far this is getting the job done.

Good, but may require calibration

This fryer seems quite rugged, heats quickly, and is about the right size for family cooking. However, I didn't have great results with it until I calibrated the temperture gauge using a probe thermometer immersed one inch below the surface, the approach recommended for restaurant frying equipment.

On my machine (your's may vary), when set on 300, the actual peak temperture was 315, when set on 370 the actual temperture was 390, and when set on the unlabled "tick mark" between those two tempertures, the actual temperture was 360.
