Serves the purpose

This is a good looking and well made container for the price. The only complaint I have is the strainer is not well thought out. It is simply a disk that stays inplace with an interference fit. It could be improved by making it more of a basket design. This will eliminate crumbs falling through while trying to remove screen for cleaning

Good to have if you deep fry often

The strainer is a pain sometimes to put in place without falling through completely, but since I also uses a coffee filter to catch finer particles, the strainer can be wedged in quite securely.

Ok containers, but easy to make a mess

I needed a oil straining and storage container for the oil I use in my deep fryer. I wanted a larger container, but could not find anything so I purchased 2 of these.

The strainer is ok for getting out larger particles, but I have to use cheesecloth on top of it to get more of the stuff out. However, one of the problems I have experienced using the strainer is getting an airlock. I start pouring the oil in but it doesn't drain down into the container. Can get quite messy if you pour too fast. You have to reposition to strainer so it will drain thru.

The only other gripe I have is that the top is not air tight. I store the oil in these containers rather than leaving it in the deep fryer, so I would have preferred to have an airtight seal.
